Does anyone know if ASUS will be offering the Zenbooks with a choice of OS like some manufacturers are doing?

I'm buying a Zenbook to break out of my current Mac fetish (iPhone, iPad, Macbook pro & air etc) and go back to my old ways of Open Source, so as soon as I get it I will be going with a Linux distro.

Would be great if it was available somewhere without Windows, as I don't really like the idea of paying for something I'll never use.

Everything that I have seen points to the Zenbooks coming with Windows 7 and no option to buy OS free. Hopefully they will provide alternative OS drivers right away.

In the ideal world, you would be able to buy an OS free device. However, you still need to pay the Microsoft tax when you buy a new Zenbook.

I never booted into windows on my UX31. Especially since during setup it forces you to agree to install the Bing toolbar and send usage information to Microsoft! (required in order to use windows).

Happily running Ubuntu Linux 11.10 with only a few minor issues.
